OUR REPSONSE TO COVID-19

In response to the fast-moving situation with COVID-19, we are putting measures in place to operate under the new restrictions:

The spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has created much uncertainty, which has been a concern for all of us.

We want to let you know that Burns and Burns Real Estate is taking this situation seriously and we are doing everything we can to manage this risk.

The health, safety and wellbeing of our clients, tenants and landlords and our staff is as always our number one priority. We are carefully monitoring the directions and advice of NSW Health, the Australian Government Department of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO), and other relevant authorities.

In addition to the rigorous safety and sanitation measures already in place, we have implemented comprehensive Coronavirus related protocols, which both disinfect and further limit opportunities for cross-contamination.

As members and staff of Burns and Burns Real Estate, everyone must practise good hygiene to protect against infection and prevent the virus from spreading.

Good hygiene includes:

  •  covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
  • disposing of tissues properly
  • washing your hands often with soap and water, including before and after eating and after going to the toilet
  • using alcohol-based hand sanitisers
  • cleaning and disinfecting surfaces (wipe door handle at inspections)
  • if you are sick, avoiding contact with others and
  • staying more than 1.5 metres away from people

Inspections by appointment only

During this period, we will no longer be conducting group open home inspections. We have moved to digital or private appointments. With a strong online representation, we can offer live agent led walkthrough inspections upon request which can be organised by contacting one of our agents.

At our Private inspections:

  • We will be limiting the number of people viewing the property at any given time.
  • We will refrain from shaking hands.
  • We will have hand sanitiser and disinfectant available.
  • We ask that if anyone that has entered the country within the last month to contact us directly to make other arrangements to view the property via other methods.

Property management services are active

It’s business as usual with some changes. We are still collecting rent, attending to maintenance, leasing property, doing in-goings and exits. If you have any questions or concerns about how this impacts your rental or investment property, please contact your property manager.

We will be constantly reviewing how we operate to ensure we meet or exceed changing government and community standards.

We thank you for your understanding and assistance.
