Location, location, location. It’s an age-old saying in the real estate industry, and it’s suburbs like Gordon that remind us why. The Pacific Highway and North Shore railway line run like a spine through the centre of the suburb, providing easy access to the Hornsby, Chatswood and Sydney CBDs, whilst Ryde Rd and Mona Vale Rd form part of the suburb’s northern boundary. Buses running from the train station link to Macquarie Park and University and to the surrounding suburbs. However, Gordon has a lot more going for it than just its position.

The bustling, village-style town centre can be alongside the historic train station, offering a wide variety of services and dining options. Gordon Golf Club occupies a large parcel of land in the suburb, and there are national parks to both the east and west. The majority of dwellings in Gordon are detached, including several historically-significant homes such as Eryldene in McIntosh St. However, over a quarter of dwellings are apartments or townhouses, a proportion that is set to grow in future, particularly around the town centre and train station.

The catchments of Gordon East and Gordon West Public Schools cover the suburb (although Gordon West PS is technically in the neighbouring suburb of West Pymble). Ravenswood School for Girls is a highly-regarded independent school for K-12 students, well-located on the Pacific Highway near the town centre and station. Sydney’s major universities are very accessible by train and bus.
